DILI, 06 october 2021 (TATOLI) – In the past 24 hours, Timor-Leste recorded four new COVID-19 cases, 143 recoveries, and the active cases dropped to 301, Rui Maria de Araujo Coordinator of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK) says.
According to today’s figure, two new cases were detected in Dili and one each in Viqueque and Bobonaro.
Araujo said 50 percent of the new cases had received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. These four new cases include three men and a woman.
Three of the new cases were between the ages of 12 and 59, including an elderly person over 60.
Araujo said 50 percent of today’s cases were symptomatic.
There are 23 people with COVID-19 in hospital and five of those are in critical condition, with one on a ventilator.
In the past 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 105 PCR tests, including one through sentinel surveillance test, one via contact tracing, 32 through random screening, 69 for the international travel authorization, and 18 in quarantines.
The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus.
Since Timor-Leste’s outbreak began in April 2020, the country has recorded 19.613 cases, 19.193 recoveries, and 119 deaths.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 62.1 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 38.9 percent have been fully vaccinated.
