DILI, 27 october 2020 (TATOLI) – A Group of Unlimited Generation (GUG), has raised an innovative idea to recycle plastics and transform them to Chairs and tables.
GUG Team leader Lucresia Araujo Dos Reis from Saint Peter High School said this recycling activity is to increase the creativity of the younger generation and to support government reducing the plastic wasting materials.
‘’We used plastic and used bottles of water to recycle and transform to concrete brick, chairs and tables,’’ She said at Dili Convention Centre on exhibition day.
GUG was established in 2019, to date, the group has produced 15 concrete bricks, one table and two chairs.
‘’We prepared the moulds with a specific size for bricks, tables and chairs, to produce these materials by pouring the plastic liquids inside the moulds and wait until 30 minutes to get the results,” she explains.
She added the idea of transforming the plastic waste materials into useful items such as tables, bricks and chairs were taken from articles on the Internet.
